If you ask if this Dom book explain Moeller technique then Yes he do and it's the book who talk and explain the more complete way of any other drum book [img]wink.gif[/img]
Donu, i think he was asking John that question...he meant he thought that john was already studying out of dom's book and therefore should already know the moeller technique from there...
I have a feeling that John and DrumMaster are the same person...
they both use similar writing styles and both described drummers 2 different drummers on here the same way (weckl and tommy lee) they both have joint names with capital letters where the new word should start and they are both starting lots of threads...i dunno...i could be wrong...it just seems like useless posting when this information is widely available
Haha... i think you might be on to something!
The Jim Chapin video "Speed, Power, Control, Endurance" is the best Moeller method lesson I've seen.
But, before you tackle the Moeller method, you should first learn the Gladstone method (what the WFD drummers use). Go to www.tigerbill.com, look for lessons for free and then read the 3 part lesson on "Building Monster Chops."
Both methods are essential but you should learn the Gladstone method first. It's easier and quicker to learn, and it's necessary to execute the Moeller method correctly, which will take many months of dedicated practice to do well, if you know the Gladstone method already.
I have just been getting into different techniques. Is it me or is that Chapin video extremely sloppy? I know the man's in his 80s, but that doesn't seem like a great technique to me. How would you execute such an exagerrated stroke at ppp? The time on the triplets and 16th notes was not at all consistant when Jim played.
I can't seem to get past quarter note=130 on my 32nd open double stroke and single stroke rolls. First of all, is this fast? I have no idea. And I'm talking about keeping there for at least a minute not just 4 bars. Should I be aiming for faster than that?
There are alot of technical players in this forum. Can you give a heads up on this?
